Each 1 g of Docaine gel contains: Lidocaine hydrochloride 50 mg.
Lidocaine is readily absorbed from mucous membranes through the damaged skin. It is a weak base and at tissue Ph can diffuse through connective tissue and cellular membranes to reach the nerve fiber where ionization can occur.
Docaine Gel has high surface anaesthetic effect and low toxicity, and it acts as an effective lubricants.

Docaine gel can be used in the following:
*Local anesthetic act by preventing the generation and transmission of impulses along nerve fibers and nerve endings.
*Pain control in mild non extensive burns, sun burns, sore nipples and herpetic lesion.

Docaine gel is contraindicated with deep open scars and extensive burns.
Docaine gel should not be used for eyes and children and should not be instilled into the middle ear and slashes and mucous membranes.
True hypersensitivity reaction including dermatitis are very rare.
Applied locally 2-3 times daily.
