Each 100 gram powder contains 30 % psyllium seed powder.
Sinamucil is bulk laxative from the plantago ovata seed powder, consists of natural fibers which regulates colon function, hence increasing the stool mass and facilitate its path in the intestine helping to avoid constipation. It has a lowering cholesterol level and high blood sugar level after meals.
It is indicated in cases of constipation and diarrhea, also in the cases of chronic constipation (under doctors supervision), especially in cases of colostomies and pregnancy.
hypersensitivity to Sinamucil or to the effective component psyllium – also in non-controlled diabetic and intestinal obstruction.
intake of large quantities of psyllium may cause flatulence and intestinal obstructions, faecal impact, allergic reactions especially if administered as dried powder.
1- A physician should be consulted before using the medicine.
2- It should be administered with caution to patients who suffer from narrow intestines or lack of its motility.
3- It should be given with sufficient quantity of fluids to avoid impaction or obstruction.
4- A doctor should be consulted in case of changes in the intestine normality for more than 2 weeks.
5- It may cause abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, or anus bleeding.
6- It mustn’t be given to children under 6 years old.
7- Caution in using Sinamucil during pregnancy and lactation.

For adults: One tea spoonful (5 ml or one sachet) with a big glass of water or any juice, followed directly with another glass of water if needed 1 – 3 times daily. The effect appears between 12 – 72 hours.
For children (6 – 12 years old): half tea spoonful (2,5g or half sachet) 1 – 3 times daily.
